Good Evening La Crosse Squadron,

As some of you know, I have accepted a full time position with the 115th
Fighter Wing of the WI Air National Guard in Madison. This of course
requires me to relocate and leave the La Crosse area. I moved to La Crosse
and informally joined the La Crosse Squadron in 2008 as a cadet. I became
very active around 2011 and moved into the Cadet Leadership Officer, IT
Officer, and then my current position as Deputy Commander for Cadets.

La Crosse is a phenomenal squadron with so many outstanding seniors and
cadets. Most of you know that my passion has always been working with the
cadets. Working with all you young adults has been a sincere pleasure. I
appreciate all the help and support of the cadet program from my fellow
senior members. Last but not least, I am thankful for all the support the
parents provide us and their cadets. Leaving the area will truly be
bittersweet. My time in CAP will certainly not be ending but simply
relocating.

I am also very fortunate to have someone capable and willing to take the
reins. Second Lieutenant Scott Tiedeman will be taking over as the Deputy
Commander for Cadets. I know that Lt. Tiedeman will do an outstanding job
and continue to improve the cadet program.

I will continue to be at most meetings and around the La Crosse area for
the time being. If I don't see you soon, thank you.

RICHARD N. MERZ III, Maj, CAP
Deputy Commander for Cadets
